Lisburn Golf Club host successful annual dinner

Following an excellent meal the Captain, Peter Cairns, presented the trophies.

The toast to the Golfing Union of Ireland was proposed by Lisburn Vice Captain John Boyd. Ulster Branch Treasurer John White replied.

The toast to the guests was proposed by Dr Sam Moore. Guest speaker Big ‘O’ entertained the audience to end a very enjoyable evening.

Fourball Betterball Shield – Glenn Waring and Glenn Walsh, Veteran’s Shield – Ken Burns. Tom Crawford Cup – Alan Gilpin, Mooney Cup – Gary Campbell, Musgrave Cup – Alastair Symington, Craig Cup – Ivor Walker, McKee Cup – Chris Budd, Barbour Cup – Michael Robinson, Sam Wilson Trophy – Michael Leathem, Fred Daly Trophy – Gary Campbell, Eddie Press Memorial Trophy – Ryan Symington, Cooper Rosebowl – Glenn Walsh and Julie Robinson.

Last Saturday’s Stableford was played over the back nine holes.

Stephen Wilkinson finished with a par three to win with 22 points.

A birdie two at the final hole moved Stephen Shaw into second place. Noel Robinson and Declan Marsden tied on 20 points with Noel’s better finish giving him third place.
