Wednesday and Monday competitions

THERE was bright sunshine for the members in the 14 hole Wednesday competition.

The long hitting Paul Bradley had the edge over the rest of his fellow players when returning 33 points for victory.

This competition was indeed somewhat of a nightmare for the handicap secretary as the first four players on the rostrum all returned the same score of 33 points.

After the count backs Mark Glendinning came second and from William Grant and Richard Greer with fifth place going to John Halliday on 32 points.

The best gross of the day went to David Erwin who returned a three over par 58.

The Monday seniors is always a closely fought affair where all these elderly statesmen grind out every putt for victory.

The one and only John Stanage was the golden boy this week scoring 40 points, three points clear from Bob Tweedale on 37 points.
