TT woes for Thompson

Crumlin rider Stephen Thompson has been in action in the 2012 Isle of Man TT but so far it has been a tale of woe for the local man.

In the opening race of the week long race programme, he started of in 31st place on lap one of the Dainese Superbike TT race and was moving up to 25th place on the second lap but mechanical gremlins hit on lap three and that was the end of the six lap race for Thompson.

Luck was much better for Morecambe’s John McGuinness who made it 18 TT wins.

His woes continued on Monday in the second of his outings in the Royal London 360 Superstock TT, which was delayed until after tea time on Monday due to incidents before the roads closed on Monday morning. Again luck was still not with Thompson, when he started out in 28th place at the end of lap one, but unfortunately yet again the gremlins hit, forcing him out of the race which saw McGuinness take win number 18 ahead Michael Dunlop and Ryan Farquhar.

Thompson is back in action again in the Senior TT on Friday and also in the inaugural Lightweight (Supertwins) TT on Friday, where he will be hoping that he can finally get rid of the problems which have dogged him so far during the TT fortnight.
