Watson thrilled by three-day event win

Foyle Cycling Club Race Secretary Lawrence Watson was among the winners at the club’s special three-day race and time trial events.

The event, which were, organised and managed by Watson, were again an outstanding success this year with Day One at the familiar Campsie circuit. day two at Carrigans and day three a time trial at Greysteel.

“I must say a special ‘thank you’ to all the riders that took part and made it such a great event,” said the Foyle secretary.

“I’ve got to say that being involved in my first club three-day after looking after the previous two years was great fun.

“It was great to see such a tight contest and the handicapping proved to be spot on and kept everybody interested right up to the time trial.”

He added: “I’d like to thank everyone that helped out in any way. These are without doubt the people that make these events possible and keep us safe on the roads. These people give their time freely and we are so grateful.”
