Fifth Ballymena Scouts festive support Foodbank
During these times of restrictions, the Fifth Ballymena Scout Group considered how they could still do their bit for the community this Christmas.
One very deserving charity that they all agreed to help was Ballymena Foodbank. For many reasons this Christmas will be especially challenging for a lot of local families in our community and the Explorers, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers of Fifth Ballymena were only too happy to do their bit and help out. The Group organised a socially distanced driveway food drop off and Leaders were delighted to see how the Christmas spirit was truly alive as the donations came pouring in throughout the day. Will McDonald from the Ballymena Foodbank chatted to them all during a Zoom meeting and explained the items they were especially in need of. Many of the members shopped for these items themselves and some even used their own pocket money. The donations were transported on to Ballymena Foodbank and when weighed by the charity totalled
