Brass band tunes up for concert

Lisburn based brass band, Dynamic Brass, have continued to play throughout lockdown.

Having had an extremely successful 2019/2020 season on the contest stage under the conductorship of Andrew McGuiggan, Dynamic Brass are currently Grade 3 Band of the Year.

The band were successful in obtaining Arts Council of NI funding for 2021, including a grant for musical instruments grant and Covid-19 emergency funding for arts and entertainment in Northern Ireland.

If you can play a brass instrument, or percussion, and can read music, the band would love to hear from you. The band is not able to meet for rehearsals face to face due to the coronavirus pandemic, however the members have continued to meet for online zoom rehearsals every Thursday night from 8pm-10pm.

The band have also been working on a collaborative online project with Downshire Brass, Wellington Memorial Silver Band, and Harmonic Sounds Concert Band. The first concert was held at the beginning of March and proved to be a great success, with the next online concert planned for Mid April.
