Dromore Youth and Community Resource Centre is throwing its doors open to the public as it sets out its stall for potential newcomers.

Formerly the ‘Pinnacle’ youth club, the centre is a long established feature of the local youth provision landscape, now, as then, housed in the youth wing of Dromore High School.

That said, you don’t need to attend Dromore High School to join the youth club.

That’s one of a number of messages leaders hope to get across during the upcoming open night.

The event is scheduled for Thursday (September 10) from 7-9pm.

A spokesperson appealed to local young people: “Come along to find out all about Dromore Youth Centre and sign up for your favourite activities.”

One sample weekly programme sees Senior Club Year 8 + (Youth Wing) meet on a Monday night, with Youth Connekt (Youth Wing) and Karate on Tuesday, Wednesday given over to Dromore Sports + (Ferris Park), Reflections (Youth Wing), Duke of Edinburgh (Youth Wing) and Netball and Thursday devoted to Junior Club P6-7 (Youth Wing) and Karate. Membership costs £5 plus 50p per night.

“We are an all-inclusive centre who welcome young people from all backgrounds, abilities and cultures,” the spokesperson said.
