Tributes paid to Philip White of Maddybenny

The equestrian world and the Triangle community has been saddened to learn of the death of Philip White.

Described in one tribute as “an excellent horseman, sportsman and gentleman”, Mr White, of Maddybenny in Portrush died on May 2.

In a post on social media, the northern region of Eventing Ireland described Mr White as “a very special member of our community - not only was he a landowner, competitor, supporter, father of an eventer but he was a very dear friend and member of our Eventing fraternity.

“He was known far and wide. He loved his equestrian sport, eventing, show jumping, point to point, hunting - it was in his blood - he was the true amateur.”

He was the dearly loved husband of Eavan, much loved father of Tegan (White McMorrow) and Jack, father-in-law of Cian and Courtney, beloved papa of Tom, Cora and Alfie dear brother of Ian, Anona, Fred, Tommy and the late Lindy.
