Busy year for Lisnamurrican YFC

Lisnamurrican YFC recently marked their 75th Anniversary with their annual club dinner.

A spokesperson said: “Thank you to everyone who attended our 75th Anniversary dinner, what a mile stone for the club, and here’s to the next 75 years.

“We hope all in attendance had a great night and enjoyed looking back at the history of the club along with us, and celebrating the night in style.

An amazing amount raised for McMillan cancer and a huge thanks must go to everyone who bought and sold raffle tickets and donated prizes at the club dinner in January.

A Cheque presentation of £1195.30 which was revived by Margaret Johnston from McMillan Cancer. Margaret explained to club members what the money would be used for and thanked the members for their great fundraising efforts.

February seen the cast of Lisnamurrican Young Farmers enthusiastic cast taking to the stage with their performance of arts festival titled the big beach games 2016.

Unfortunately the cast did not make it through to the gala but members are still in a high from the buzz of their performance and the highly commended comments and marks of their performance which took place in Ballymoney high school on Thursday, February 18.

Various meeting have been taking place over the winter months including a club exchange with city of Derry YFC with 60 Murrican members heading off to the jet centre to meet the exchange club we saw 115 members taking to the ally’s to bowl. This is was a great night’s crack and many friendships were made.

The club would like to say “Well done to County Antrim Young Farmers for organising yet another successful big night, which took place on Saturday, February 27 in Tullyglass Hotel.

“Well done to all the teams who participated in the cube, and a great effort was put in from team members from Lisnamurrican YFC Chrissy, Jonny, Michael & Jason.”
