Alexandra Rachel Ritchie, of Clonmeen, Craigavon, is accused of causing grievous bodily harm to a woman via dangerous driving on December 24, 2025.

She is also charged with driving when unfit through drink/drugs on the Dobbin Road and Vicarage Road, Portadown on the same date.

Ritchie’s barrister Mr Conor Coulter said his client is “hard of hearing” and uses lip-reading to understand. Standing in the dock the charges were read to the defendant.

A Prosecutor submitted that based on the papers before the court there is a prima facie case. Mr Coulter said there were no contrary submissions.

District Judge Michael Ranaghan told the defendant that normally he would have a copy of the papers and have read them but he understands there are no objections from defence counsel who has considered the papers. "On that basis there is a prima facie case,” he said.

Ritchie declined to say anything or submit anything in writing in response to the charges. She was sent for trial to Craigavon Crown Court on a date to be fixed.

District Judge Ranaghan explained to the defendant the matter is now with the Crown Court and her legal team will be notified of the date of her arraignment in due course.

Mr Coulter requested Legal Aid explaining the case was "complex” and involved “a very serious injuries sustained’.
