Co Down man who tendered counterfeit £10 note is fined £100
A 30-year-old Rathfriland man who tendered a counterfeit £10 has been fined £100.
Robert Brian Elliott (30), of Redbridge Road, was detected at a shop in Antrim town on May 3 this year.
Antrim Magistrates Court, sitting in Ballymena, was told the defendant committed a similar offence in Rathfriland on May 4.
On Tuesday, he was sentenced for the Antrim incident and District Judge Nigel Broderick noted it was the defendant's second offence and if he does it again "it will not be a fine the next time".
