ABC Lord Mayor, Councillor Mary O’Dowd has urged anyone with information, in relation to recent death threats targeting her party colleague, Councillor Paul Duffy, to contact the PSNI.

The Portadown DEA representative received a death threat after graffiti targeting him appeared at his workplace.

Councillor Duffy, who has represented Portadown since 2011 and lives off the Garvaghy Road, works in the construction industry. He uncovered the graffiti when he arrived at work on Monday, October 12.

Speaking at Monday’s meeting of Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Council, the Lord Mayor commented: “I want to strongly condemn the death threat that was put towards my colleague, Councillor Paul Duffy.

“It was entirely unacceptable for anyone to face death threats or intimidation, while serving the community and in the workplace. No one needs to be leaving their job or their workplace because of death threats.

“So, I would urge anyone that has any information in relation to this, to contact the PSNI."
