Limavady men before court for theft

Two men with Limavady connections have appeared in Court before District Judge Barney McElholm, on foot of a theft charge.

The first accused, Brian O’Hagan (21), with an address given as Sperrin Road, appeared at Londonderry Magistrates Court early last week, charged with the robbery of a glasses case on December 17.

The court was told that the 21-year-old accused faced four further charges of theft relating to alleged incidents on December 19.

Meanwhile, his co-accused, 18-year-old Callum Jason Peter Blackwell, of Meadowvale Park, Limavady, was accused of theft and burglary on the same date.

District Judge Barney McElholm released both defendants on conditional bail. They were released on their own surety of £300 and were also ordered to abide by a curfew.

The pair were also banned from having any kind of contact with the alleged injured party in the case, a woman.

District Judge McElholm also ordered them to refrain from entering Limavady town centre and ordered them to refrain from consuming non-prescription drugs or medication.

In addition, District Judge McElholm warned both of the defendants that if there was any breach of their bail conditions they would face being brought before the court again and would be remanded in custody.

District Judge McElholm then ordered both of the accused men to ensure that they appeared before the Magistrates Court again, in answer to their bail, on January 15.
