Jail warning if Ballymoney gym not paid £2,430

A man has been warned he could be sent to prison if he doesn't pay £2,430 to a Ballymoney gym.

William Anderson (45), whose address was given as Holywood Road, Belfast, was sentenced at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday, February 6 in connection with two charges of fraud by false representation.

The charges are that he dishonestly made a false representation that two cheques drawn in favour of Causeway Route 2 Fitness in the sums of £900 in October 2011 and £1,530 in November that year, on the account of Mr W Anderson trading as Creative Design, would be on honoured on presentation.

District Judge Liam McNally ordered Anderson to pay back the money as he imposed a three-year conditional discharge.

He said if the money is not paid the defendant could face 45 days in jail.
