60 officers and boys from eight companies of Mid Ulster Boys' Brigade celebrate 70th camp in sunny North Wales

The Mid-Ulster Battalion Boys’ Brigade is celebrating their 70th camp in Prestatyn, North Wales.

Since the first camp in 1955, the Battalion has visited some twenty-two camp sites throughout the UK, as well as in Ireland and Guernsey in the Channel Islands.

This year’s camp sees yet another return to the most frequently visited site, this being the sixteenth time to camp on the same site in Prestatyn.

Activities planned include kayaking on the Llangollen canal, ninja tag in Rhyl, and Aqua chimp (floating ropes course) at Wild Shore Delamere, as well as visits to Liverpool F.C. and Alton Towers theme park.

Some 60 plus Officers and Boys from 8 Companies are hoping the current good weather continues. Mr Walter Mullan from 1st Stewartstown Co. will be creating what is most likely to be an unequalled achievement in that he has attended all of the 70 successive camps, with the only years missed since 1955 being 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
