£400,000 footway improvement scheme from Lodge Road roundabout to Mountsandel Bridge under way
A £400,000 footway improvement scheme on the A29 Ring Road, Coleraine, is under way.
Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins announced that the scheme commenced on October 20.

The scheme forms part of the Department's ongoing commitment to improving active travel infrastructure and enhancing accessibility for pedestrians in the Coleraine area and will provide 500 metres of new footway extending from Lodge Road roundabout to the southern side of Mountsandel Bridge.
To facilitate the works, temporary traffic management arrangements will be in place on the A29 Ring Road, Coleraine, from Tuesday, October 20, for approximately six weeks.
To allow the work to be completed as safely and efficiently as possible while also considering traffic flows in the area, overnight road closures will be in place in a Limavady bound direction only, Monday to Saturday, from 8pm until 6am.
A diversion will be in place and will be signed accordingly via Lodge Road, Nursery Avenue, Terrace Row, Bannfield Road, Hanover Place, A2 Bann Bridge, Strand Road.
The Department has carefully programmed both the works and the associated traffic management measures to minimise disruption as far as possible, however the Lodge Road Roundabout will be reduced to one lane during the closure which has the potential to cause some local delays.
Road users are advised to allow additional time for journeys through the area during the periods of road closure.
The dates and duration of the works are dependent on favourable weather conditions and may be subject to change. The Department has said that it would like to thank residents, local businesses and road users for their patience and cooperation while these important improvement works are carried out.
