Stirling in Ireland squad to face Pakistan

Carrick’s Paul Stirling has been named in Ireland squad to face Pakistan in Dublin this week.

Coach Phil Simmons has kept faith in the side which won both of March’s World Cup qualifiers against the United Arab Emirates for the two one-day internationals in Dublin this weekend.

Stirling, 22, who plays county cricket for Middlesex, will be a familiar face to this weekend’s opposition. He smashed a century against them (109 runs) in a one-day match at Stormont in 2011. The former Belfast High School pupil made his ODI debut as a teenager for Ireland against New Zealand in July 2008.
