The Brandywell boss, who gave debuts to new signings Mark Stewart, Enda Curran, Roddy Collins Junior and Ciaran Gallagher, while trialists Aaron Barry played the 90 minutes, watched his team get their first work-out of the season.

A penalty from Rory Patterson got City on their way, before Ryan McBride headed home before the break, then in the second half Enda Curran netted from the spot and Barry got himself on the score-sheet.

After the game the Derry boss spoke to Sentinel Sport’s Editor Kevin McLaughlin.
