RACEVIEW 2 NEWTOWNE 2

What a game this was with both teams going all-out for the win as victory for either would have seen them crowned league champions. Raceview took the lead when J B Dobbin finished off a good move on the 8th minute but Newtowne came back with Paul Brown heading a cross down for Martin Cutmore to score in the 13th minute. Newtowne then had two great chances but headers from Paul Brown went narrowly past the post on the 19th and 21st minutes. Keeper Declan Scullion then brought off a great save on the 27th minute for Raceview then at the other end keeper Lee Callaghan saved superbly to deny Matt Boyd on the 32nd minute. Half-time saw the teams still locked together at one each and the pace of the game never slackened with both teams going for goals in the second half. Colin Craig then went close for Raceview on the 72nd minute while Paul Brown forced another good save from keeper Scullion on the 78th minute.

Newtowne then had a man sent off for a second yellow card on the 81st minute then on the 83rd minute Substitute Danny Quinn cut in from the right wing before dispatching the ball into the bottom corner of the net putting Newtowne in front. Matt Boyd then saw a shot go narrowly past the post on the 84th minute but made no mistake when scoring the equaliser on the 86th minute. Time was then running out and with the referee playing a justified seven minutes of stoppage time it was a nervy time for both teams and the large crowd of spectators got their breath back.

Referee Mr. David Appleyard

Carniny got off to a good star with Jordan Graham scoring on the 10th minute, following this up with a second goal scored by Ciaran McGarry on the 20th minute. Kilbride tried hard to get back into the game after this but at half-time Carniny were still two goals to the good. Kilbride went looking for goals in the second half getting back into the game when Adie Biggerstaff scored on the 68th minute and after this Carniny were down to ten men after having a man sent off. Time then began to run down with Carniny holding out for the win. Referee Mr. Stephen Gregg

CLOUGH RANGERS ATHLETIC 3 BRANTWOOD 3

This was a corker of a game with a share of the points probably a fair result to both teams. Chances had come and went before Patrick Kelly opened the scoring for Brantwood on the 37th minute and at half-time this goal still separated the teams. Clough got back on level terms after manager Ricky Nicholl scored on the 56th minute then took the lead after David Nicholl scored on the 61st minute. Brantwood got back level after Joseph McClenaghan scored on the 67th minute and went in front again after Patrick Kelly scored his second goal in the game on the 81st minute. Clough never gave up the chase getting a deserved equaliser when Ricky Nicholl scored his second goal on the 89th minute. Referee Mr. Paul Doherty
