The 32-year-old, who has signed a one and a half year deal with the Blues, asked Ross County to terminate his contract for personal reasons last month.

Sproule, who was a target for Derry City, was thrilled to have finally signed for the Windsor Park men.

“I feel very excited to have signed for Linfield,” stated Sproule.

“It’s obviously a good time to be joining the club, as we’re sitting at the right end of the table. It’s a great challenge for me.

“I spoke to a few clubs but I always knew my heart would lie at Linfield and I’m delighted to have signed. Luckily enough, I spoke with David (Jeffrey) for what’s been the third time about signing for this club and I’m just glad at last to have been able to put pen to paper.”

Meanwhile ’Stute’s 200 club monthly draw for October took place at the ground recently.

Ian Stone won first prize of £100, Paul Lewis and Billy Carlin were second and third respectively and both won £50.
