Hard fought draw for U15s

MONEYSLANE’S U15s travelled to play a league fixture against Tullyvallen at the weekend and were made to fight hard for a share of the spoils.

Slane got off to a great start when Ethan Scott was played in by Dickson, he lobbed the keeper and the ball dropped in at t he far post for the opening goal.

Ten minutes later Slane were caught on the break and the score was level.

Slane pushed hard to get their nose in front but the home side were dangerous on the break. Dickson, Blakely and Boyd all came close but the half remained at one all.

Slane were caught out early in the second half and conceded a second. Things were back on level par when Blakely turned sharp and played the ball across goal to David Kinley who tapped in at the front post.

Again Slane had to chase the game when the home side scored a great goal from a good move up the flank. Boyd came close but he rattled it off the bar.

With two minutes to go Slane drew level when Dickson hit a sweet volley into the back of the net.

Overall a good performance by Slane who were short on the day but the team stood up well and Galloway was man of the match at the back.
