Ibrox’s unbeaten run comes to an end

The last unbeaten record in the Larne and District Pool League fell in the big top-of-the-table clash between Thatch and Ibrox.

Thatch won 10-5 thanks to a fantastic first session in which they won all five frames. Hat-tricks from Jonny Nelson and Alan Johnston helped them consolidate their position at the summit.

Saints stay in the race after defeating No. 1 Reds 10-5. New Northern Ireland ‘A’ player Ady Toner scored a fine treble for the Saints; as did Anthony McCorry.

Stuart Houston’s Gers are joint-third after a steady 9-6 win over Thatch Rockets.

Hugo Manson’s Feathers won the opening frame against LIPS, only for the Inver Park men to level at 1-1. But it was to be their only frame of the match as the Pigeon Club team reeled off 13 in a row to take both points.

Honours were even after the No. 1 Blues v St Comgall’s match, with Tyler McKee winning the vital 16th frame for the hosts.

No. 1 Club had to dig deep, winning the last four frames away to a dogged Station Bar team, with Kenny Hylands winning the play-off to secure the two points. Mickey O’Boyle had an unbeaten 2/2 for the Railway men as did William Irvine for No 1.

Dhu had a great win over the Highfliers storming back from 1-6 and 4-7 down. Sean Davidson won the play-off frame for Dhu to guarantee his team both points.
