It's a win for Wallwin on a tough course at Lisburn GC

Alan Wallwin (16) topped the field at Lisburn GC last Saturday in a competition organised by the professional Stephen Hamill.

The course was played off the back markers with lightning fast greens. Unsurprisingly CSS went up to 74.

Alan reached the turn in 41, includeing a double at the seventh. A birdie four at 12 helped his card. Although he ran up doubles at 14 and 16, he recovered to finish with a gross 85 and nett 69.

Mark Stewart (10) and Michael McCaughan (11) finished on 70. Michael went out in 39 despite a double bogey at the par five 8th. He recovered from double bogeys at 10 and 12 to finished with a par three.

Mark also went out in 39 and recovered from a double bogey six at 11 with a birdie four at 14. He finished with a back nine of 41 to win second place on count back.

Adam Cooke (19), Michael Bryson (7) and Richard Warwick (14) finished on 71.

Ryan Symington had the best gross with a round of 74.

Wednesday Stableford

1st James Dowling 40 pts, 2nd Aaron Marshall 40 pts, 3rd Kyle Patton 39 pts.

Seniors: 1st  Billy Dougherty 39 pts, 2nd Brian Sparkes 38pts, 3rd Norman Briggs 37pts.

9 Holes Billy Hawthorne 17pts.

Juveniles: 1st  Max Gillespie 39 pts, 2nd Conor Lyness 38pts, 3rd Scott Heatherington 33 pts.
