The Giving Shed to hold car boot sale at Cloughmills Primary School

The Giving Shed will be holding a car boot sale at Cloughmills Primary School on Saturday, February 14 from 10am until 12pm.

The Giving Shed supports families, vulnerable adults, homeless individuals, sheltered accommodation residents, and teenagers in care by redistributing quality preloved items.

Over the past four years, the project has provided clothes, food, toiletries, and small household items to more than 1,500 families.

Initially launched to support those impacted by COVID-19, The Giving Shed accepts gently used and new donations, promoting sustainability and preventing good items from ending up in landfills.

Families decluttering their homes can donate items to The Giving Shed, and in return, they are welcome to access the project throughout the year if they find themselves in need.

Funded by The National Lottery, Halifax Foundation, and the local community, they currently run a few key projects, including:

- The Little Pantry, providing pantry items with the support of Tesco and Lidl;

- The Giving Shed, offering preloved items to families, also supported by Tesco and Lidl;

- Christmas Appeal, providing toys, food hampers, toiletries, sleeping bags, and clothes, with support from Tesco, Lidl, Dunelm, and public donations.

"Your support could help keep this much-needed project alive and thriving in our community,” the group said.
