Asda Foundation grant to help bring Cookstown elderly together
A Cookstown charity for older people has been awarded a grant of £500 from the Asda Foundation.

The Tuesday Club, which meets weekly at O4O in Cookstown, supports older members of the community with regular activities, combating isolation and promoting wellbeing.
The funding, part of the Asda Foundation’s Better Together programme, will allow the group to host festive gardening classes for members in November and December.
Tuesday Club Cookstown Secretary Jane Ringland said: “As a small charity with a small income, we depend on funders to help us run our activities. This funding will make a big difference for our members, bringing people together to create some special Christmas moments. A huge thank you to the Asda Foundation.”
The Better Together Fund is designed to bring people closer, reduce isolation and create meaningful connections – especially for older and vulnerable members of our communities.
Janice Gibson, Community and Customer Champion at Asda Cookstown, added: “I see first-hand through my role how small, local charities make such a big contribution to our community. I was delighted to present Jane and the team with a cheque to help them continue their work.”
