Locals complete Memory Walk Marathon

Those brave enough to take on Alzheimer’s Society’s ‘Memory Walk Marathon’ got to experience physical exertion, a strong sense of achievement and views of the iconic Giant’s Causeway.
Valerie Feeney lives in Coleraine and took part in the event with three friends from her local Fitness First gym.

She completed the walk in eight hours. She said: “It was a tough challenge, but a very worthwhile one, which I am personally glad to have completed, albeit with two sore feet and very tired legs.”
Jeremy Hughes, Chief Executive of Alzheimer’s Society added: “We are so grateful to all those who took part in Memory Walk Marathon Northern Ireland.
“I would urge anyone who would like to support Alzheimer’s Society by taking on a gentler challenge than the marathon to register for the Northern Ireland Memory Walk, taking place in the beautiful surroundings of Ormeau Park, Belfast on Sunday 23 September.”
