Unveiling nothing to do with politics or religion: Reader

SIR - As an supposed educated man which I find hard to believe, Mr Allister would need to talk to someone with a higher IQ to explain to him that the unveiling of the statue of the late Robert Dunlop was nothing to do with politics or religion.

It was a private moment to remember someone and all he achieved in his life. It was a day for his family and friends who were entitled to invite whoever they wanted to be there.

If Mr Allister had put his brain in gear before opening his mouth, he might have figured it out.

He has made himself and his party no friends and no votes by spoiling a day of remembrance with his tasteless comments.

Now a none voter (name and address supplied)
