Whitehouse Primary School pupil scores second place in all-Ireland Times Tables Rock Stars competition

A Whitehouse Primary School pupil has achieved an outstanding result in an Ireland-wide mathematics competition, finishing second out of 14,695 students.

Manjari Gaurangi M Tanuskodi (10) secured the number two spot in the Times Tables Rock Stars competition, which concluded on October 16.

Taking place as part of Maths Week, the contest saw pupils put their multiplication skills to the test by practising their recall of times tables, going head to head against thousands of other children in schools throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland.

A Primary Seven pupil in Mr Evans’ class, Manjari’s achievement also earned her first place among all participating primary school pupils in County Antrim.

Her success has been warmly celebrated by staff at Whitehouse Primary. School principal, Dawn Blain said: “We are delighted that Manjari's hard work and dedication has been recognised. As a school we are extremely proud of her achievements and know that she has inspired our school community with her accomplishments.”

Manjari’s family hope her story will inspire other children to develop their mathematical abilities and enjoy learning. “Her dedication, exceptional multiplication skills and enthusiasm for mathematics have made us incredibly proud. To achieve such a high ranking among nearly 15,000 students is a wonderful accomplishment,” her family added.
