Trophy success

Mr McKenna is president of St Laurence O’Toole’s Pipe Band, Dublin, which won the World Piping Championships in August.

The trophy, known as ‘Spikey’, was brought back to Ireland after an impressive performance by the Dublin band in Glasgow Green.

North Street engraver Colin O’Neill was entrusted with the task of printing the band’s name onto the world title.

Mr McKenna said: “It’s an incredible honour to be president of this world-class band. The competition in Glasgow was a brilliant experience .”
