Nurse-led non-surgical aesthetic treatments: Natural-looking procedures available at dedicated Lurgan clinic

OS Aesthetics specialises in natural-looking aesthetic treatments, combining over 17 years of nursing experience with a personalised approach to patient care, safety and confidence helping clients to look and feel their best.
Natural-looking enhancements to our appearance can improve not only the way we look, but the way we feel, giving our confidence a boost inside and outside.
And that’s just what is being offered by Orlagh Stevenson, of O.S. Aesthetics who specialises in natural-looking enhancements, such as reducing fine lines and wrinkles, fillers and facial sculpting.
Aesthetic treatments does not have to mean big lips and a total transformation, says Orlagh, a qualified nurse who began offering aesthetic treatments from her rural home outside Lurgan six years ago.
A recent move into the centre of Lurgan itself means easier access for clients, and a dedicated clinic setting where she can continue to offer discreet aesthetic enhancements to a wide range of clients, as well as giving her space to open up to training others in the profession. Orlagh says it is the first dedicated aesthetics-only clinic in Lurgan.
As well as having a wealth of experience in the profession, Orlagh is very much a people person who can put clients at their ease, and wants to ensure they are completely happy with the results.
Having taken over the lease in the summer she has spent the past four months transforming the building at William Street, Lurgan. There is a comfortable waiting area, where frosted windows give light and privacy to clients, and a private treatment room in the back.
Upstairs there is a training area where Orlagh will be able to deliver group training sessions for professionals to upskill in aesthetic treatment procedures or have 1-2-1 training to help them with all aspects of the aesthetics industry, from the treatment themselves to marketing and building a business.

Look good: Feel good
The transition from psychiatric nurse to aesthetic practitioner was a natural progression for Orlagh. “I wanted to make people feel better about themselves and their wellbeing and when people feel good about how they look their inner confidence comes back.”
She has a wide range of clients from young women to a lady who was 82, seeking her first aesthetic treatment. She offers a range of beauty treatments – filling wrinkles, reducing fine lines, improving that ‘droopy’ face or jowly look, making skin look plumper and glow again and throughout all she prides herself on giving people a natural look.
“What I achieve is great results that look natural, they are subtle beauty enhancements,” said Orlagh.
She also offers a service giving fast analysis of moles, skin blemishes and lesions within days, having been trained to examine such imperfections; she can send her analysis for further review by a consultant dermatologist who will give feedback within days. And she can improve the look of scars too, from acne marks to scar tissue that’s the result of accidents or injuries.
Orlagh says seeing people’s reactions to successful treatments is what makes her love the job.
“I have had tears of joy from clients, when they see the results. Something so simple can leave people absolutely glowing with confidence,” she said.
Free consultation
Anyone considering an aesthetic enhancement, but who is unsure what treatment is right for them, can opt for a free consultation. Orlagh says it is just a chat, with no obligation.
She says it’s an opportunity to talk through what someone wants and how they are feeling, and to advise and give reassurance but also it’s an opportunity to manage expectations.
“I work collaboratively with clients and talk to them about all the options available so that we come up with a plan together. It’s not until you have that in-depth conversation with someone that you can work out if it is in your power to help them achieve what they want and know if it’s realistic.
“If I cannot do what they want, or it is something that would require surgery, I will tell them and refer them to someone who can do it,” she says.
Industry recognition
Orlagh was named the aesthetic practitioner of the year in Local Woman magazine this year and has been nominated for the award again. She was nominated for three years in a row in the cosmetic medicine awards, and earlier this year was asked to speak to industry professionals at the aesthetic medicine live conference held at the Olympia Stadium in London
Training
The new premises mean Orlagh can offer training courses to other qualified practitioners – nurses, dentists and doctors – who wish to improve and enhance their own skills.
She will be offering a range of group courses but also is available for 1-2-1 mentoring and training, for those already in the aesthetics industry who want to improve their skills and maximise their business.
“I will always go out of my way to help someone – I like to see people do well and progress,” says Orlagh, who is constantly improving her own skills with industry-accredited training. Her latest development course will enable her to assess moles and skin legions herself and safely remove them.
And she is also hoping to offer some group sessions for clients to give information on topics such as the menopause, skin health and the effects of sun beds.
