Great 'Scott' - it's the McCarters!

This was an open mixed foursome game and they carded a relatively modest 16 points going out. A very strong back nine, which included a birdie four at the tenth, of 21 points saw them win on countback from Trevor Moore and Noreen Allen.

The intrepid reporter, ably assisted by Noreen, recorded a birdie two at the sixth hole which partly made up for a bad seven at the seventh and gave them 18 points out. A good nineteen points back was not enough to outdo the McCarters‘ 21.

John Brankin and Sam Barry posted 36 points to claim third place. A birdie three at the fifth helped them to 17 points out and further birdies were picked up at ten and eleven to add 19 back. A bad no score at eighteen proved costly in the end.

Best gross went to Chris Dunbar and Charlene Reid for their 74. Two nines of 37 each included four birdies but a couple of double bogies pegged them back a little.
