If approved, the development will include solar panels, garages, car parking, private and communal amenity space, hard and soft landscaping works, retaining structures, site works and access arrangements from Main Street.

The application was lodged by planning and development consultancy firm Turley, Hamilton House, Belfast, on behalf of Kelly Brothers Ltd, Milltown East Industrial Estate, Warrenpoint.

In correspondence to the agent, ABC Planning officers wrote: “The council has considered the Pre-Application Notification and finds that it contains sufficient information with regards community consultation measures.

“This is of course not a planning decision by the council and refers only to the compliance with the statutory requirements under Section 27 of the 2011 Planning Act.”

As the application is at a very early stage, no information has been supplied to date regarding the scale of the housing scheme envisaged.
